SPPU to Host ‘Startup Olympiad 2025’ to Encourage Student Innovations

The event is being organized by the university’s Center for Innovation, Incubation, and Enterprises, in collaboration with its Innovation, Research, and Collaboration departments.

Pune: Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) has announced the launch of the ‘SPPU Startup Olympiad 2025’ to foster student-led innovation and entrepreneurship. The competition aims to provide a platform for students to showcase their creative ideas and develop them into market-ready products.

The event is being organized by the university’s Center for Innovation, Incubation, and Enterprises, in collaboration with its Innovation, Research, and Collaboration departments. Students from affiliated colleges can participate through their respective Startup and Innovation Cells.

Participation Process & Key Dates

  • Student Registration: Open until February 23

  • Live Online Workshop: Scheduled for February 24 & 25 to provide guidance to participants

  • Selection of Five Student Groups per College: February 25-27, with presentations coordinated by faculty

  • Presentation of Shortlisted Ideas: March 3-6

  • Final Round: To be held in the third week of March

SPPU officials emphasized that this initiative aligns with the university’s vision to support entrepreneurship and technological advancements among students. The Olympiad is expected to serve as a launchpad for innovative startups that can contribute to the business ecosystem.
