According to sources cited by NDTV, the BJP’s legislative party will convene in Kolkata on Friday, May 8, to deliberate on the formation of the government..

Reports indicate that Adhikari is expected to be selected as the leader of the BJP legislative party during the meeting. BJP state president Samik Bhattacharya will propose Adhikari’s name, and Home Minister Amit Shah will officially announce him as the leader of the legislative party.

The location for the meeting is still undecided. It will not take place at the party’s state headquarters, as the venue is too small to host all 207 winning candidates. Formerly regarded as Mamata Banerjee’s close confidant, Adhikari, in his role as Leader of the Opposition, has repeatedly targeted her government over a range of issues, particularly alleged minority appeasement, the presence of Bangladeshi infiltrators, and the overall law-and-order situation..

Oath ceremony on May 9

State BJP president Samik Bhattacharya announced on Tuesday that the swearing-in ceremony for West Bengal’s next Chief Minister is scheduled for May 9.
