Pune: Three Bangladeshi nationals were arrested for illegally residing in India in the Talegaon MIDC area. The arrests were made on December 30 at Navalakh Umbre following a tip-off received by the Pimpri-Chinchwad Anti-Terrorism Cell. The arrested individuals were found using forged documents to pose as Indian citizens.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Husen Sheikh (31), Monirul Ghazi (26), and Amirul Sana (34). According to the police, the accused were residing in India without valid documents and had obtained fake Aadhaar and PAN cards to conceal their identities.

A case has been filed against an individual accused of assisting the three in creating forged documents. Police constable Roshan Pagare has lodged a formal complaint at the Talegaon MIDC Police Station.

The arrests have reignited concerns about the residence of Bangladeshi infiltrators in Pimpri-Chinchwad, an industrial hub in Maharashtra. Over the past two years, the Pimpri-Chinchwad Police Commissionerate has taken action against 37 Bangladeshi nationals and four individuals from two Rohingya families originally from Myanmar.

Furthermore, the police have canceled passports issued to 62 Bangladeshi nationals who had falsely registered city addresses. The influx of illegal residents is particularly noticeable in industrial zones, where many infiltrators have settled.

Search Operations Underway

To address the issue, the police have initiated search operations in the city to identify and take action against illegal residents. The Talegaon MIDC Police are leading the investigation in the current case.
