Pune: A distressing case has emerged where a college student was assaulted during a party, and a video of the incident was shared on social media. Hinjewadi police have arrested three individuals in connection with the crime.

According to the police, the arrested suspects are Shreyas Sanjay Kawade (19), Lalit Pramod Bhadane (21), and Ram Tulshiram Gambhire (35). All three are residents of Pune but originally belong to different districts.

The victim, a 20-year-old college student, filed a complaint at the Hinjewadi police station regarding the incident. The victim, along with two of the accused, is a student at a college in Tathawade.

The trouble began due to a previous dispute between the victim and a cousin of one of the accused, Ram. Using this as a pretext, the accused allegedly lured the victim to an apartment in a society on Marunji Road under the guise of a party.

During the gathering, Ram offered the victim a cigarette. When the cigarette accidentally fell from the victim’s hand, he picked it up. This seemingly trivial act enraged Ram, who accused him of trying to act equal to him.

Following this, the accused physically assaulted the victim and forced him to undress. Another accused, Lalit Pramod Bhadane, filmed the entire incident and later circulated the video on social media, worsening the humiliation faced by the victim.

Ram further intimidated the victim, reportedly stating, "Go wherever you want; I have 53 cases against me. No one can touch me." After the victim lodged a complaint, Hinjewadi police launched an investigation and arrested all three accused.

The case is being handled under the supervision of Senior Police Inspector Kanhaiya Kumar Thorat. Further investigations are ongoing.
