Throat-Slashing Murder in Bavdhan: Jealous Husband Suspects Affair

The horrifying crime took place around 1:30 AM on Wednesday (September 18) at a nursery near the Bavdhan police post.

Pune: A brutal murder unfolded in Bavdhan on September 17 night, as a 25-year-old man was killed in his sleep. The victim has been identified as Praveen Mahto.

Praveen had his throat slit with a sharp weapon, allegedly by a man who suspected him of having an illicit relationship with his wife.

The horrifying crime took place around 1:30 AM on Wednesday (September 18) at a nursery near the Bavdhan police post, within the jurisdiction of the Hinjewadi Police Station.

The accused, Rajivkumar Mahto, believed that Praveen was involved in an extramarital affair with his wife. Fueled by jealousy and rage, Rajivkumar, with the help of an accomplice, plotted to eliminate Praveen. While Praveen was sleeping, the two men executed their deadly plan by slashing his throat.

The incident came to light when the Hinjewadi Police were informed of the murder. Officers quickly arrived at the scene and apprehended both Rajivkumar and his accomplice. The investigation is ongoing, with the police examining the circumstances leading up to the crime.

The Hinjewadi Police are continuing their probe into the case, looking to uncover more details about the relationship between the individuals involved and the exact motive behind the killing.

Recently, a man was killed by his colleague with a cement block over suspicions of an illicit relationship with his wife. The crime occurred on Tuesday, September 10, around 8:30 AM, near Dhangar Baba Temple on the road from Kalewadi Phata to Tapkir Chowk.
