Pune: In a bid to improve traffic flow and reduce congestion at Santosh Hall Chowk on Sinhagad Road, the Sinhagad Road Traffic Division has issued temporary orders changing the traffic flow at the junction.

The revised routes include:

  • Route to Swargate from Anandnagar Road: Vehicles heading towards Swargate will now need to approach Santosh Hall Chowk, turn left, and proceed straight for 150 meters in the direction of Wadgaon Bridge/Dhayari. They should then take a U-turn in front of the Titan Watch showroom to continue on the Swargate route.

  • Route to Anandnagar from Wadgaon/Dhayari: For vehicles coming from Wadgaon and heading towards Anandnagar, the route involves driving straight for 100 meters from Santosh Hall Chowk, taking a U-turn in front of Apte Colony on the right, joining Sinhagad Road, and proceeding straight to Santosh Hall Chowk before making a left turn to enter Anandnagar.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Amol Zhende has outlined changes to the current traffic patterns in the area, specifically targeting the flow on Anandnagar Road.

The new traffic arrangements are designed to streamline the movement of vehicles, aiming to address the chronic bottlenecks in the vicinity of Santosh Hall Chowk.

These temporary measures are aimed at easing the heavy traffic load and ensuring a smoother commute for residents and commuters in the area. The traffic division has urged the public to cooperate with the new arrangements and follow the designated routes.

Residents are encouraged to submit any suggestions or feedback regarding the new traffic arrangements in writing to the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Traffic Control Branch, at the Yerawada Post Office, Bungalow No. 6, Jail Road, Pune.

The feedback should be submitted by September 16, 2024. Final orders will be enforced, with exceptions made for essential service vehicles, including fire brigade, police, and ambulances.
