Joe Biden won the frontline prizes of Michigan and Wisconsin on Wednesday, recovering a key part that tripped away from Democrats four years back and vividly narrowing President Donald Trump's road to re-election.

The result of the US Presidential election is hanging on the vote count in a handful of major states, with the race too close to call so far. Joe Biden has multiple roads to victory with his 253 electoral votes compared to 213 for Donald Trump, who would need to win all the remaining states.

In order to become victorious, 270 electoral votes are required. Those votes are divided up respectively among the states. As it stands, there are six states still left uncalled, including major awards such as Pennsylvania, Nevada, as well as Georgia, North Carolina and Alaska.

If Biden's lead in Arizona holds, and he conquers Nevada and its six electoral votes as expected, he will have 270 electoral votes in his bag and can claim win. Meanwhile, Joe Biden on his Twitter handle wrote, “I’m confident that we will emerge victorious. But this will not be my victory alone. It will be a victory for the American people.”

The Donald Trump campaign on Wednesday filed lawsuits in Pennsylvania, Michigan and Georgia after the US president fell behind Biden in the race to the White House. The President falsely demanded victory in several key states and amplified unconfirmed plot theories about Democratic gains as absentee and early votes were arranged.
