Pune: A group of miscreants wreaked havoc in the Kalepadal area of Hadapsar on Monday (September 30), smashing the windows of nine vehicles after a dispute escalated into violence.

The Wanawadi Police have swiftly taken action, registering a case against five individuals involved in the attack, including the prime accused, Sahil Kamble.

The complaint, filed by local resident Abhishek Uddhav Zhagde (24), detailed the altercation. A few days prior to the incident, Zhagde and Kamble had a disagreement.

Tensions rose between the two, and Kamble, accompanied by his accomplices, arrived in Kalepadal on Monday afternoon with the intent to intimidate.

According to the police report, Kamble and his group shouted abuses and terrorized the residents of the area, wielding wooden sticks.

The group vandalized two cars, a tempo, and several auto rickshaws, shattering their windows in a rampage that left the local community shaken. After causing the destruction, the group quickly fled the scene.

Senior Police Inspector Sanjay Patange and his team responded swiftly to the incident. Kamble was arrested late that night, while efforts are underway to apprehend his remaining accomplices. Assistant Sub-Inspector Sable has taken charge of the investigation.

This incident is part of a growing trend of intimidation and vandalism in Pune, where minor disputes are leading to violent outbursts and property damage.

Over the past few weeks, several cases have been reported in suburban areas where innocent citizens’ vehicles are targeted during such altercations. Local residents are demanding stricter enforcement and harsher penalties for those involved in such disruptive activities.
