The Indian Home Ministry has introduced E-Gates, significantly streamlining the immigration process. As a frequent traveler, I have found that the time spent at immigration counters has been virtually eliminated thanks to these E-Gates. The procedure is now extremely smooth and efficient. I am grateful to the Ministry of Home Affairs for implementing E-Gates and making the experience much easier for travelers like me. Thank you," Kohli said in the video.

Fans mock Virat Kohli

Many people ridiculed Kohli for his frequent trips between India and the United Kingdom, where he is widely believed to spend considerable time with his family. Social media users quipped that officials had "picked the perfect person" to endorse airport e-gates, given how regularly he travels in and out of the country for both cricketing duties and personal matters.

The video triggered a flurry of lighthearted responses, with many posts alluding to Kohli’s ties to London and his frequent international trips. Some users joked that hardly anyone could be more accustomed to airport formalities than the former India captain.

Kohli to miss AFG ODIs with injury

Kohli, currently representing India in ODIs, was clearly in discomfort while steering Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s chase during the IPL 2026 final against Gujarat Titans in Ahmedabad, where he scored an unbeaten, match-winning 75. His right hamstring injury has since worsened, ruling him out of the series against Afghanistan. Consequently, the BCCI has named Yashasvi Jaiswal as his replacement.
