Pune: In a dramatic turn of events, a young man posing as an MS (Orthopedic Surgeon) was exposed as a bogus doctor on Friday (January 10) afternoon in Wagholi. The incident came to light when the suspect visited a local blood test laboratory, seeking space to open a clinic.

Suspicious Behavior Raises Alarm

The lab operator grew suspicious when the man failed to provide a degree certificate or a valid registration number. Further investigation revealed that no one with his name had obtained an MS degree. Under questioning, the man confessed that he was only a 10th-grade pass and had previously worked as a compounder.

Escape Drama at the Police Station

The suspect, accompanied by his parents, was taken to the police station. However, during the proceedings, his mother feigned dizziness, prompting authorities to rush her to a nearby hospital. Taking advantage of the situation, the trio fled the hospital, leaving officials stunned.

Admission of Fraudulent Activity

Before escaping, the suspect admitted that he had purchased a fake medical degree online and claimed that many others had done the same over the past three years. His admission has raised concerns about the prevalence of bogus doctors operating with fraudulent credentials.

Lab Operator’s Vigilance Saves Lives

This incident highlights the importance of vigilance among healthcare professionals. The alertness of the lab operator not only exposed the bogus doctor but also potentially prevented him from endangering lives in Wagholi.
