Pune: The Vadjai area of Wagholi in Pune witnessed a firing incident early this morning, raising concerns among residents. An unidentified person fired through the window of a house, but fortunately, no injuries were reported.

The incident occurred at the residence of 35-year-old Nilesh Subhash Satav, a resident of Vadjai Vasti. According to reports, an unknown assailant fired bullets through the house’s window during the early hours. While no one was harmed, the incident has left the community unsettled.

Senior police officers promptly arrived at the scene upon receiving information and have launched an investigation to identify and apprehend the assailant. So far, the motive for the attack remains unknown.

This firing incident is the second of its kind in recent days. In a previous case, a young man allegedly fired a licensed pistol to prevent his intoxicated friend from being taken to a rehabilitation center. Fortunately, that incident also did not result in any injuries.

Recently in September 2024, six individuals, including two women, were arrested and remanded to police custody in connection with an attempted murder by shooting, which took place in Uruli Kanchan near Pune.

The court had ordered three days of police custody for the accused, who are involved in an ongoing financial dispute with the victims. The incident occurred on September 14 in the Inamdar Vasti area, where a heated argument over unpaid dues escalated into a violent altercation.
