Weather Update: Pune Sizzles as Maximum Temperature Crosses 37°C

Pune and its surrounding areas have experienced a steady increase in maximum temperatures. Minimum temperatures have dropped by 1–2°C, bringing some relief at night.

Pune residents are feeling the impact of rising daytime temperatures, with Dapodi recording a high of 37.9°C, the highest in the city. Other areas, including Koregaon Park, Shirur, and Magarpatta, reported temperatures exceeding 35°C, marking a significant departure from the winter chill experienced just weeks ago.

Shifting Weather Patterns: From Winter Chill to Intense Heat

Since the last week of January, Pune and its surrounding areas have experienced a steady increase in maximum temperatures, crossing the 35°C mark. As a result, residents are feeling intense heat during the day, while nights remain relatively cooler with early morning fog observed in some regions.

Minimum Temperatures Drop in Certain Areas

While the daytime heat is increasing, minimum temperatures have dropped by 1–2°C, bringing some relief at night. Lonavala recorded the lowest temperature at 10.9°C, followed by:

  • Haveli: 11.7°C

  • Shirur: 12.2°C

  • NDA: 12.8°C

  • Shivajinagar: 13.8°C

  • Purandar: 14.8°C

  • Baramati: 15.4°C

Weather Forecast for the Coming Days

According to the India Meteorological Department, the weather will remain dry for the next 2–3 days, with cloudy conditions expected in the afternoons. However, no major changes in maximum or minimum temperatures are anticipated.
