The lockdown imposed to curtail the spread of novel coronavirus is not easy for anyone, but it is exclusively tough for singles, who have little to no physical contact with others. Now, it looks like the government in the Netherlands has fixed this problem or at least understood it. Yes, you read it right!
The Dutch government has recommended single men and women to catch a 'sex buddy' for the COVID-19 imposed lockdown. Single people looking for intimacy during the outbreak should come with up a plan with one other person, The National Institute for Public Health and the Environment (RIVM) said.
However, the pair should avoid physical affection if one of the buddies is infected, the advice states. The administration issued the new advisory after many people said that there was 'no advice' for singletons.
The Netherlands has been on what the administration calls as an 'intelligent lockdown' from March 23. Up to three guests are allowed into homes on the condition that they practice social distancing.
The RIVM, in its new advisory, said that 'it makes sense that as a single (person) you also want to have physical contact' during the pandemic.
The RIVM added that if single persons select to involve in sexual contact, they should take protections to reduce the risk of COVID-19 exposure.
The guide further states, "Discuss how best to do this together. For example, meet with the same person to have physical or sexual contact (for example, a cuddle buddy or 'sex buddy'), provided you are free of illness."
"Make good arrangements with this person about how many other people you both see. The more people you see, the greater the chance of (spreading) the coronavirus," it adds.
Meanwhile, the total number of coronavirus cases reported in the Dutch land is nearing the mark of 44,000 with 5,662 deaths reported.
