India-US Trade Talks Progressing, But No Deal in Sight Yet

US and India Continue Trade Talks, Progress Made but Agreement Remains Elusive

Abhijit Sherekar

US Trade Representative Jamieson Greer stated on Thursday that the Trump administration is collaborating with India to finalize a bilateral trade agreement, though he noted that a deal is not imminent.

Greer mentioned having 'a very constructive conversation' with Indian Trade Minister Piyush Goyal during the G20 trade ministers meeting in Milwaukee this week, and added that officials from both nations are continuing discussions.

He mentioned that while there may not be anything immediate, they have clearly identified the range of issues that are causing challenges and are working hard to address them.
