Pune: In a violent confrontation in Pune’s Kondhwa area, a young man narrowly escaped death after being viciously attacked with a sharp weapon by an acquaintance.

The altercation was sparked by a missed phone call and the refusal to provide money for petrol. The incident unfolded on Sunday morning in front of the S Tyre Puncture Shop at Kadnagar Chowk.

Yogesh Ramdas Londhe, a 28-year-old resident of Someshwar Society, was having his bike's puncture repaired when Arbaaz Arif Sayyed, also 28, approached him.

According to police reports, Sayyed had previously requested money for petrol, which Londhe declined. Furthermore, on September 21, Sayyed had attempted to call Londhe, but the call went unanswered, leading to a grudge.

On the day of the attack, Sayyed confronted Londhe at the puncture shop, armed with a sharp weapon. In a sudden outburst of violence, he struck Londhe multiple times on the head and right hand, inflicting severe injuries.

As Londhe lay injured, Sayyed continued the assault with kicks and punches, seemingly intent on killing him. After the brutal attack, Sayyed fled the scene, leaving Londhe seriously wounded.

The victim was rushed to a hospital for treatment, and police have launched an investigation, led by Sub-Inspector Jadhav. A case has been registered against Sayyed under relevant sections of the law, and police are continuing their efforts to apprehend the accused.
