Pune: The Pune Zilla Parishad (ZP) has launched an initiative to develop its prime city properties at key locations like Market Yard, Kothrud, Koregaon Park, and Bibwewadi. These properties, which have remained underutilized for years, will now be transformed into commercial complexes, malls, and shops, ensuring a sustained revenue source for the Zilla Parishad.

Despite discussions spanning several years, these properties had been largely neglected. However, Zilla Parishad CEO Gajanan Patil has prioritized their development and taken concrete steps toward implementation.

"The Market Yard property, spread across 30 gunthas (0.75 acres), is currently used as a warehouse. Plans are underway to lease commercial units at this location to self-help groups under the 'Umed' scheme. Additionally, the Zilla Parishad will maintain official records at this site while also constructing a commercial complex," Patil explained.
