2 newborn babies found abandoned

PUNE: In a shocking incident, two one-day-old infants, were found abandoned near Pashan lake on Tuesday morning. As per the Chatuhshrungi police, the incident was reported at around 8.30 am. The police said that a baby boy and a girl were spotted by joggers near Pashan lake. 

“The joggers heard the cries of the infants and while searching in the area, they found the two babies wrapped in a cloth. They then immediately informed us about the incident,” said a police official.

Chatuhshrungi police station’s Senior Police Inspector Anil Shewale said, “Upon receiving the information, we immediately reached the spot and took custody of the infants. They were found in stable health and were kept under observation at Sassoon General Hospital. Our teams are working to find out more details regarding the case.” Until the police reached the spot, the locals fed the infants milk. Police officials will be lodging a case against unidentified persons for abandoning the babies.
