26 girls suffer food poisoning

ST CORRESPONDENT

Pune: About 26 girls, undergoing skilling training under the Deen Dayal Grameen Kaushalya Yojana at Rajuri in Junnar Taluka, suffered from food poisoning on Friday afternoon.

The girls, who had reached Rajuri from different parts of the district, were undergoing the training at Sahyadri Valley College of Technology when they complained of stomach ache.

The girls were rushed to a primary health care centre in Junnar.

While 13 girls were discharged after basic treatment, the rest of the girls were kept under observation till evening and were discharged later.

Dr Ramprasad Dhaykar of the health centre said that the girls must have consumed something stale, which caused the food poisoning.

Authorities of the Sahyadri Valley College of Technology will be checking the food sample and water samples consumed by the girls, which led to their food poisoning.
