3 held for robbing youth

Pune: Three persons, including a minor, have been arrested by the Hinjewadi police on Monday for robbing a youth on the pretext of helping him fix his punctured car. The incident occurred late on Sunday night at a spot opposite Mercedez Bez showroom in Baner.

The accused have been identified as Sagar Tadake (20) of Kalbhor Nagar, Ashok alias Khandya, a resident of Indra Nagar Colony, and a minor, who is also a resident of Chinchwad.

Hinjewadi police informed that the complainant was robbed at around 11.30 pm on Sunday. The complainant, who was replacing the punctured tire of his car opposite the Mercedez Benz showroom, was approached by the trio, who offered to help him. However, as he started a conversation, he was attacked by the trio, who snatched his cell phone worth Rs 12,000 and fled from the spot.

Immediately after the incident, the complainant dialled 100 and reported the matter to the police. A police team immediately rushed to the crime spot and chased the offenders and arrested them at Thergaon.
Police have booked the two major accused under section 395 (Punishment for Dacoity) of the Indian Penal Code.
