Pune: After the success of Post Office Passport Seva Kendra (POPSK) in Chinchwad, the Regional Passport Office (RPO) is all set to start three new POPSKs in Ahmednagar, Sangli and Pandharpur.

Residents can now get their passports easily made at the kendras in their respective area instead of coming all the way to Pune for the work.

“We are all set to open these three centres after instructions from the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA). The applicants from there will not have to come to Pune. It will save their money, time and inconvenience caused to them. At present, they have to come to Pune a day before the appointment date,” said Atul Gotsurve, Regional Passport Officer, Pune.

In the first phase, 86 POPSKs are slated to be opened in the country, of which 52 have become functional.
