6 killed in Ambegaon after wall collapsed

Another incident of wall collapse killed six people in Ambegaon. The incident took place three days after 15 people died in a wall collapse incident in Kondhwa.

The incident took place around 1.10 am near Sinhgad education society campus. 

After getting information, Pune fire brigade officials rushed to the spot. A team of NDRF 5th Battalion was also called. The rescue operation was closed at 4.10 am. A total of six bodies – 4 males and 2 females – were removed from the debris, while three persons are injured. 

Pune district collector Naval Kishore Ram said, "The labourers lived in huts made of tin-sheds on which the wall collapsed. The injured persons are undergoing treatment at Sassoon hospital. We will provide compensation as per government norms. The labourers hailed from Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh.

Talking about steps taken after wall collapse incident in Kondhwa, he added, "Pune municipal corporation (PMC) inspected 287 sites and removed labourers from 6-7 sites as their huts were vulnerable. This site is old and could not be checked in recent survey.
