PUNE: A number of State Civil Services aspirants do not have space to study following the instructions by the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) to shut all study rooms and libraries across the city. The step has been taken as a preventive measure against the spread of coronavirus.    

After the decision, several candidates are preferring to go back to their hometowns.

A State Civil Services aspirant Ashish Gedam, said, “The increasing number of coronavirus cases has sparked fear amongst the students. Many are now returning to our hometowns. There are many students who are preparing for MPSC preliminary exams scheduled for April 5.”

Mahesh Gharbunde, a student from Solapur, said, “We preferred coming back to our hometowns after the coronavirus cases started increasing in the city. We are not going back to Pune until the situation is under control.”

Another student Anil Mane said, “After the closure of libraries, our study schedule has been disturbed. We used to study for 11 to 12 hours at the campus library, but now, we do not have a space to study.”

PREVENTION
Libraries have been shut to contain the spread of novel coronavirus in the city. Pune has reported total 19 cases of coronavirus so far.
