Agri students’ protest enters sixth day

PUNE: Students of MSc Agriculture protesting since Tuesday at Maharashtra Council Of Agriculture Education And Research (MCAER), Pune, staged a shirtless dharna on Sunday as the protest entered the sixth day. The students have not received any decision to their demands. 

Sagar Karande, a student from College of Agriculture, Parbhani, said, “Though NCP MLA Rohit Pawar visited us at MCAER on Sunday, no written assurance has been given to us.”

Somnath Sawne, also a student from the College of Agriculture, Parbhani, said, “Rohit Pawar assured us that the demands are being considered.”

Nitin More, a student from the College of Agriculture, Kolhapur, said, “Our student delegation has also met NCP chief Sharad Pawar and given a memorandum. He also told us that our demands will be met with some positive outcome.”
