Pune: The All India Students Federation (AISF) and the All India Youth Federation (AIYF) city wings are gearing up to welcome the long march started by them from Kanyakumari to Punjab, which will enter the city on August 7.

“The march will halt at Savitribai Phule hall near the Mahatma Phule Wada. This will be followed by sessions by experts addressing several issues faced by the people in the country, which have not been addressed by the government,” said AIYF member Girish Phonde at a press meet recently.

Around 12 members of both the organisations set on a long march protesting against the government on July 15. The AISF and the AIYF have been raising demands such as employment, education, action against mob lynching, caste discrimination during 60-day march.

AIYF all-India General Secretary R Thirumalai, President Afthab Alamkhan, AISF General Secretary Viswajith Kumar and President Syed Valiyulla Khadari are leading the march.
