Ashadhi Wari 2025: Pune Welcomes Sant Tukaram Maharaj and Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj Palkhis

PMC Commissioner Naval Kishore Ram and senior civic officials greet the sacred processions with traditional honours and ensure smooth arrangements for pilgrims.

Pune, 20 June 2025: Today, the city of Pune warmly welcomed the revered Ashadhi Wari Palkhi processions. Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) Commissioner Naval Kishore Ram, Additional Commissioner (General) M. J. Pradeep Chandran, Deputy Commissioner (Solid Waste Management) Sandeep Kadam, and Chief Engineer (Projects) Yuvaraj Deshmukh officially received the Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj Palkhi.

At Bopodi, Additional Municipal Commissioner (Estate) Omprakash Divate received the Sant Tukaram Maharaj Palkhi. Deputy Commissioner of Zone 2 Arvind Mali and Assistant Commissioner Girish Dapkekar were also present to extend a warm welcome. Omprakash Divate himself led the procession for Sant Tukaram Maharaj’s Palkhi.

The PMC honoured all Dindis (pilgrim groups) with coconuts and rose flowers. The civic body had made extensive preparations, including water tankers, mobile toilets, sanitation along the procession routes, and medical services to ensure devotees’ convenience and safety.

Commissioner Naval Kishore Ram, along with Additional Commissioners Prithviraj B. P. (Estate) and M. J. Pradeep Chandran, and Deputy Commissioner of Zone 1 Madhav Jagtap, also participated in welcoming the Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj Palkhi today.
