Bakri Eid 2026: Traffic Diversions Announced Around Golibar Maidan in Pune Cantonment

Several key roads in the Camp area to remain closed during Eid prayers; motorists advised to use alternate routes

Pune, 28th May 2026: Pune Traffic Police have announced major traffic diversions in the Camp and Cantonment areas on Thursday (May 28) on the occasion of Bakri Eid. A large gathering is expected at the Eidgah ground near Golibar Maidan for community prayers, following which special traffic arrangements have been announced.

According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Dr. Sandeep Bhaji Bhakare, the revised traffic plan will remain effective from 6 am until the completion of Namaz prayers.

Traffic movement on several important roads around Golibar Maidan, Seven Loves Chowk, Mamadevi Chowk and CDO Chowk will either be restricted or diverted depending on crowd conditions

Bhairoba Nala to Golibar Chowk Diversion

Vehicles travelling from Bhairoba Nala towards Golibar Chowk and Swargate side will be diverted through Prince of Wales Road and Lullanagar Chowk. Light vehicles heading towards Pune Railway Station will move via Empress Garden Road.

Mamadevi Chowk to Golibar Maidan Diversion

Motorists coming from Mamadevi Chowk towards Golibar Maidan will be redirected through Bishop School Road, Command Hospital Road and Napier Road before reaching CDO Chowk and other destinations.

CDO Chowk to Golibar Chowk Diversion

Traffic from Lullanagar towards Golibar Chowk will be diverted at CDO Chowk. Authorities have temporarily opened a right turn at Khatav Bungalow Chowk to ease congestion, allowing vehicles to proceed through Napier Road and Bishop School route.

Seven Loves Chowk Diversion

Vehicles approaching from Seven Loves Chowk will be diverted through Salisbury Park, CDO Chowk and Bhairoba Nala Road.

Old Solapur Bazaar Chowki Diversion

Motorists from the old Solapur Bazaar Chowki side will be guided through Pulgate Depot, Solapur Bazaar Chowk, Napier Road, Khatav Bungalow Chowk and Mamadevi Chowk.

Restriction on Heavy Vehicles and Buses

Police have prohibited the entry of heavy goods vehicles, passenger buses, ST buses and PMPML buses from Lullanagar Chowk towards Golibar Chowk during the restricted hours. These vehicles will instead be routed through Bhairoba Nala Chowk and Gangadham Chowk.

The traffic police have appealed to citizens to cooperate with authorities and use alternate routes to avoid inconvenience during the festival rush.
