Baramati: 8 workers asphyxiated at sugar factory

Pune: Around eight workers involved in cleaning work at cooperative sugar factory were rushed to a nearby hospital after they complained of difficulty in breathing in Malegaon area of Baramati taluka in Pune on Saturday morning.

Of the 8 workers, two were in unconscious state when they were rushed to the hospital. Locals of the village said that following the sugarcrane crushing season, workers were involved in cleaning a tank when they were affected by some gas.

Other fellow workers then rushed to their rescue and took the workers to nearby hospital. The unconscious workers are been identified as Rambhau Yele and Jalinder Bhosale.
