BP Singh gets six months’ extension

PUNE: The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has extended the tenure of renowned film producer BP Singh, who is also President of Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) Society and Chairman of Governing Council, by six months with effect from March 4.

An order issued by the Ministry on Thursday stated that the tenure of non-official members of FTII Society has been extended by six months, or until a new FTII Society is appointed, whichever is earlier.

The term of the Society headed by Singh ended on March 3. Actors Satish Kaushik, Danny Denzongpa, CBFC Chairman Prasoon Joshi, singer Anup Jalota, filmmaker and FTII alumnus Vidhu Vinod Chopra, and actor Kangana Ranaut are some of the notable non-official members of FTII Society.

The Governing Council has FTII alumnus and filmmaker Raj Kumar Hirani, FTII alumnus and cinematographer Mahesh Aney, actor Divya Dutta as some of its prominent members.
