Builder hurt in firing in Pimple Gurav

PUNE: A builder was injured in a firing incident at a busy location in Pimple Gurav on Saturday around 11.30 am. Two bike-borne assailants fired at developer Yogesh Shelar, the police said.

The incident took place near the Tulja Bhavani Mandir in Pimple Gurav. The police suspect the attack as fallout of past enmity. Shelar (40) is a resident of Pimple Gurav, Sangvi.

After the incident sleuths from Pune city police crime branch and Sangvi police station rushed to the spot. DCP (Zone 3) Ganesh Shinde confirmed the firing incident.

According to the police, Shelar was shot when he was approaching his car after coming out of the temple.

Shelar sustained two bullet injuries in his leg, while the attackers escaped. He has been admitted to a private hospital in Aundh.

The incident has sent shockwaves in the area after the firing which took place at a crowded place.
