PUNE: The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel deployed at the Pune international airport have been sensitised to adopt the minimum touch concept and also wear masks, surgical gloves. They will not touch any item/ article belonging to a passenger during the pre-embarkation screening.

CISF has deployed an adequate number of officers and personnel in the arrival and specially created ‘Triage Area’ to extend the help to the medical team of Airport Health Organisation (APHO) and passengers arriving from Dubai. “CISF personnel have been advised to maintain minimum close proximity interaction with passengers without compromising security procedures. CISF personnel are also maintaining a proper distance from the body of a passenger during frisking. The equipment is also being sanitised regularly,” said CISF Assistant Inspector General Hemendra Singh from New Delhi.

“CISF Intelligence wing personnel deployed at airports for behaviour detection have been sensitised to look out for potentially infected passengers and alert the security personnel and health officials,” he said.

INFRARED THERMOMETERS PROCURED

An infrared thermometer will be kept at Security Hold Area (SHA) for checking the temperature of departing passenger with symptoms of fever, cough, etc and directing them to APHO authorities deployed at airport’s arrival area for action.
