PUNE: According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the Southwest Monsoon is very likely to withdraw from the remaining parts of the country and simultaneously northeast monsoon rains are very likely to commence over Tamil Nadu and Puducherry, Kerala and adjoining areas of Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka by Monday.

The well-marked low-pressure area over southeast and adjoining east-central Arabian Sea concentrated into a depression on Saturday afternoon. The depression is very likely to intensify further into a deep depression during till late night on Sunday and into a cyclonic storm subsequent till October 8. It is very likely to move west-northwestwards towards south Oman and adjoining Yemen coasts during the next four days.

IMD has forecasted rainfall at most places with heavy at isolated places very likely to occur over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Kerala and Lakshadweep till October 8. The sea condition would become rough to very rough over southwest and adjoining west-central Arabian Sea on Monday.

It will become gradually high over west-central and adjoining southwest Arabian Sea from Monday onwards. 

The IMD has also warned that the storm may also affect coastal parts of Maharashtra with squall winds and rough sea during the same time.

PUNE CITY
After a week of sunny afternoons and rainy evenings, IMD has forecasted that the city may experience a rise in temperature during the day and clear skies till October 13.
