Pune, 18 December 2025: City will host Coinex Pune 2025, a rare coin and currency exhibition organised by the International Collectors Society of Rare Items (ICSRI), from Friday, January 19 to Sunday, January 21. The exhibition will be open to the public from 10 am to 7 pm at Sonal Hall on Karve Road.
Sharad Bora, Pune city secretary of ICSRI, shared details of the event during a press conference. Office bearers including vice-president Kamlesh Motiwala, joint secretary Shyam Mothe, treasurer Nitin Shah, and Rajendra Shah were also present.
The exhibition will display a wide range of rare coins and currency notes, including historic coins from the era of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, traditional gold hons, and several rare Indian and foreign “fancy” coins. The event aims to give citizens, collectors, and students an opportunity to explore India’s rich numismatic heritage.
The exhibition will be inaugurated on Friday at 10 am by noted numismatics expert Dr K K Maheshwari. On this occasion, the Lifetime Achievement Award will be conferred posthumously on renowned historian Gajanan Mehendale.
Lifetime Achievement Awards will also be presented to Farukh S Todivala, Dr Dilip Rajgor, and Popat Halpawat for their contributions to the field.
Several educational and interactive programmes related to coin collection and history have also been planned during the three-day event.
