COVID-19 Pune: Rotary Club donates ventilators to Army Institute of Cardio-Thoracic Science

Pune: The Army Institute of Cardio-Thoracic Science, Pune, received two state-of-art ventilators from the Rotary Club of Pune Amanora and Rotary Club of Sinhgad Road on Monday.

The ventilators were handed over to the centre in the presence of the Commandant of the Institute, Maj Gen Arindam Chatterjee

This initiative is supported by our CSR partner, Kubota Agricultural Machinery, India. Mr GS Grewal, Senior Vice-President, Kubota India was present on the occasion.  

Mr Grewal said, “In this pandemic time, if our CSR can support the dire need of medical equipment required for COVID intensive care, then there cannot be any better service to the society." 

Sonia Meghnani, President of the Rotary Club of Pune Amanora said, “It has always been our endeavour to extend a helping hand to society. We are extremely grateful to our CSR partners who have enabled us to donate these machines at these difficult times when there is an urgent need for them."

Along with the partner ecosystem they have managed to handover PPE kits and fulfilled other requirements from medical staff to keep them safe. A few days ago, Rotary Club of Pune Amanora also contributed Rs 10 lakh worth of ration kits and Rs 2 lakh worth of education kits to needy families from the weaker section of society.

A detailed plan is being worked out to further empower the weaker sections, create women empowerment and maximise earning potential of villages. As per Sonia, “Our sustainable water projects have changed the economy and quality of life of villages in the past."

Rotary Club of Pune Amanora has been aiding to fight the pandemic and proud to be able to make a difference to people's lives.
