Five Garden Housing Society is modern, green

PUNE: ‘Five Garden Housing Society’ which was established in 2004 is located at Rahatni. 

The society comprises 200-plus residential bungalows. It consists of several well-maintained amenities including two swimming pools, two clubhouses with plush lawns, one tennis court, one badminton court, a Dada-Dadi park, a Temple/Mandir, one children’s park and indoor and outdoor gymnasium activities. 

All residential units have solar water heaters on the rooftop and a few residents have put in efforts and initiated converting solar energy to electricity. 

The society has been doing waste segregation for the last couple of years and has a wet waste composting facility. The fertiliser created through the waste composting is used by the residents for their residential as well as common gardens. 

Water conservation is given prime importance in the housing society and efforts are taken to reduce the usage of water. Also, the society will soon start rainwater harvesting. 

To enhance security, the society has installed the Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology which is a non-contact, automatic identification technology. There is a dedicated housekeeping staff for activities like maintaining gardens, sewer and water pipelines, electricity connection, generator back-up and cleaning of the campus are performed by them with great efficiency. 

The society celebrates several festivals like Ganesh Chaturthi for ten days, Navratri, Christmas, Halloween, Holi and many more festivals in an eco-friendly manner. 

The society committee members include Chairperson Usha Arya, Secretary Hemant Bhat, Shrikant Sarda and other members.
