Four nabbed for manufacturing and selling spurious shampoo

Sakal Times

Pune: Four persons from Pimpri have been arrested for illegally manufacturing spurious shampoo and selling it with labels of branded shampoo companies. They used to buy original bottles from scrap dealers and fill them with spurious shampoo and then sell them.

The arrested persons are Nizamuddin Bashirkhan Usmani (40), Islam Gafoorkhan Sayyed (19), Isaqkhan Samshuddin Teli (23) and Nizam Noorhasan Teli (21). The police said one of the arrested suspects is a rickshaw driver while others are street vendors.

Based on a tip-off from informants, the Crime Branch and FDA teams raided a house in Pimpri, from where several bottles of shampoo were seized. The Pimpri police arrested the four persons who were part of the racket. They used to buy chemicals from a local shop and made the shampoo without any licence. The seized shampoo bottles were sent for forensic analysis.

Police Sub Inspector Madhusudan Ghuge is investigating the case.
