Get set go: Festival special trains from Pune to Goa, Delhi

Pune: Ahead of big festivals including Dussehra and Diwali, the railway administration has decided to ply special trains to Delhi and Goa. The Indian Railways will start running 392 festival special trains from today till November 30 to cater to the festive season rush in addition to the special trains that are currently plying.

Not wearing masks or maintaining social distancing and boarding train despite being COVID-19 positive could invite fine or imprisonment, according to guidelines declared by the Railway Protection Force (RPF). The special trains will operate for destinations such as Delhi, Goa and other destinations to provide to the rising demand in the holiday period of Durga Puja, Dussehra and Diwali. Many passengers ply to Goa and Delhi during the festival season from Pune. To cater to the demand from travellers, the railways have started two trains for these destinations.

Hazrat Nizamuddin (Delhi)-Pune AC Sleeper Fast Train (No. 04418) will depart from Nizamuddin every Tuesday at 9:35 pm and will arrive Pune at 9:25 pm on the next day. On return, the train (No. 04417) will run from Pune every Thursday from October 22 to November 26. The train will depart from Pune at 5.15 am and will reach Nizamuddin at 5.35 am the next day.

Pune-Madgaon (Goa) express will run every Friday from October 23 till November 6. The train (No. 01409) will depart from Pune at 6.45 pm and will reach Madgaon at 8.30 am the next day. In its return journey, same train (No. 01410) will depart Madgaon every Saturday from October 24 to November 7. The train will leave Madgaon at 4 pm and will arrive Pune at 5:05 am the next day, according to the Pune Division of Central Railway.

Meanwhile, Pune- Hazrat Nizamuddin AC Express weekly special has already started from October 16. The train will depart Delhi every Friday and will arrive Pune the next day. The special AC express will leave Pune on every Sunday from October 18 till further advice reaching Hazrat Nizamuddin next day.
