Government launches Al-powered app for mock competitive tests

Pranita Roy

Pune: The ministry of human resource development (MHRD) has recently launched an AI-powered app ‘National Test Abhyas’ for mock tests of joint entrance exam (JEE) mains, national eligibility cum entrance test (NEET) and other competitive exams.

The mobile app developed by the national testing agency (NTA) will enable candidates to take mock tests for their upcoming exams at home.

The nation-wide lockdown has led to the closure of several educational institutes and NTA test-practice centres (TPCs) where candidates could take the mock tests.

To make up to their loss and satisfy demand, the NTA has helped candidates through the app in which they can access high-quality mock tests. It is free of cost.

The tests can be easily downloaded and completed off-line.

“This timely launch has been designed to ensure that no student is left behind in getting exposure to online testing, especially when NTA’s TPCs are shut due to the COVID-19 lockdown,” said Minister of HRD, Ramesh Pokhriyal.

The app can be accessed on smartphones or computers for practice tests. The app currently works on Android-based smartphones and tablets -- and can be downloaded from Google Play Store. The app will be soon available on iOS.

NTA will release one new mock test on the app daily. Students can download it and attempt offline. After the test is competed candidates can submit it online and check their results.

“The NTA has also instituted live support from 10 am to midnight for the first seven days of the release to ensure that any issues experienced by the student are proactively addressed”, said the minister

The test report will provide a detailed breakdown of students’ performance for better analysis of performance to improve their scores the entrance examination.
