Pune, 15th May 2026: In a major breakthrough the Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) reportedly arrested the accused from Nagpur railway junction in Hadapsar hospital bomb case. The incident had triggered panic in Pune after a suspicious bomb-like object was found inside the men’s washroom of Usha Kiran Hospital near Kamdhenu Estate on May 13.
The object was discovered near the ICU section of the private hospital around 7.30 pm, leading to a massive security response. Police teams, bomb detection squads and emergency responders rushed to the spot and sealed parts of the hospital premises for inspection.
According to investigators, the suspicious object allegedly had a seven-hour timer attached, raising fears of a possible explosive threat. Security agencies later carried out detailed searches inside and around the hospital premises.
Officials said CCTV footage collected during the probe allegedly showed the suspect arriving at the hospital on an Ola electric two-wheeler before placing the object inside the washroom area.
Pune Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar had earlier said investigators had secured important leads in the case, which eventually helped agencies trace and arrest the suspect.
