Pune has witnessed relentless heavy rainfall over the past several hours, leading to widespread waterlogging, tree fall incidents, and disruption across the city. One of the most striking scenes was reported from the Pune Police Headquarters in Shivajinagar, where knee-deep water entered the premises following continuous rain.
The flooding also affected the entrance to the Police Headquarters, which resembled a flowing stream as rainwater gushed through the compound. The incident highlighted the impact of the intense downpour on key government buildings and public infrastructure.
According to the Pune Fire Brigade, 51 tree fall incidents were reported across the city between 5 pm on Sunday and 1 pm on Monday. Emergency teams responded promptly to all calls, and officials confirmed that no injuries or loss of life were reported in these incidents.
Meanwhile, Pune District Collector Jitendra Dudi said the heavy rain has claimed lives in parts of the district, while several landslide incidents have also been reported. He said all government departments and emergency response agencies have been placed on alert and immediate relief measures are being carried out wherever required.
The district administration has appealed to residents to avoid stepping out unless absolutely necessary and to follow official advisories until the weather conditions improve.
