Pune, 8th July 2025: The Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) has taken significant steps to upgrade road infrastructure in Hinjawadi and Pirangut, two of the region’s prominent industrial zones. In the Hinjawadi industrial area, three key road projects have been sanctioned. These include the development of a 1.5-km stretch from Mahalunge to Hinjawadi Phase 1 at an estimated cost of ₹13.05 crore, a 2.4-km road from Thakar Vasti to Maan Gaothan costing ₹20.88 crore, and a 3.5-km road from Surya Hospital to Thakar Vasti with a budget of ₹30.45 crore. All roads are being developed with modern design standards, and land acquisition has already begun.

Simultaneously, PMRDA has approved three crucial road projects in the Pirangut industrial belt, also in Mulshi taluka. These include a 7.1-km road from Uravade to Hinjawadi Phase 3 (₹14.50 crore), a 3.93-km stretch from Nande to Lavale (₹8 crore), and a new 1.5-km road connecting Nande to Maan (₹15 crore). Each road will be developed with a width ranging between 30 to 45 meters, providing smoother transit for both industrial logistics and local residents.

Officials stated that once these roads are completed, both industrial operations and daily commuting will become more efficient. Improved infrastructure is expected to attract further investment in the region and facilitate balanced urban and rural development. The upgraded roads will also improve emergency access and reduce congestion.

These initiatives by PMRDA are seen as vital infrastructure moves for the fast-growing Pune metropolitan region. By focusing on industrial hubs like Hinjawadi and Pirangut, the authority aims to strengthen economic growth while improving quality of life for citizens residing in and around these areas.
