One of the key concerns discussed was the issue of waterlogging caused by encroachments on natural streams and drainage channels. These blockages have led to stagnant water during monsoon season, worsening road conditions and causing inconvenience to commuters and residents alike. The Deputy CM emphasized the need for strict action against such encroachments to restore natural water flow.

To tackle the traffic crisis, Pawar called for rapid planning and development of new roads, as well as widening and repairing existing ones. He directed the concerned departments to submit detailed reports promptly and to prioritize infrastructure improvements in affected areas. The urgency of the situation demanded not only short-term fixes but also long-term planning for sustainable traffic management.

Present at the meeting were Divisional Commissioner Dr. Chandrakant Pulkundwar, PMRDA Metropolitan Commissioner Dr. Yogesh Mhase, Pune District Collector Jitendra Dudi, Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Commissioner Shekhar Singh, PMRDA Additional Commissioner Deepak Singla, Chief Engineer Rinaz Pathan, and other senior officials from various departments.

The Deputy CM’s directives aim to relieve daily traffic woes for thousands of commuters in Pune’s crucial IT corridor, signaling a coordinated administrative push for improved urban infrastructure and planning in the region.
