IAF celebrates 85th anniversary at Lohegaon air force station

Pune: The Air Force Station, Lohegaon, celebrated the 85th anniversary of the Indian Air Force (IAF) on Sunday. Air Commodore KV Surendran Nair, Air Officer Commanding, Air Force Station Lohegaon, Pune laid a wreath at the war memorial to pay tribute to the martyrs.

A static display of fighter aircraft, weapon system along with the static and flying display of aero models was organised for students/staff of schools of Pune and families of serving/ retired air warriors including military engineer services (MES) employees and Air Force civilians.

Tea with non-combatants and civilians was organised for an informal interaction. All air warriors of the station renewed their pledge to bear true allegiance to the constitution and to loyally obey the orders of the President of India, who is the supreme commander of the armed forces.

The celebration also included a social evening for retired officers and invitees at Officers’ Mess on September 30, in recognition of their yeomen service to the nation.
