Pune: The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examination (CISCE) has declared the dates for the conduct of examination for the remaining subjects of class X and XII. They will be held between July 1 and 14, 2020.

The board examinations were halted when the national lockdown was announced from March 24 in wake of the increasing spread of Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) across the country.

The Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE) examination (that is class X) will be held from July 2 to 12, with examinations of six subjects / groups of subjects pending.

The Indian School Certificate (ISC) examination (class XII) will start on July 1, and will continue till July 14. The examinations of eight subjects are yet to be held.

Masks and hand sanitisers are compulsory for all the students. Sharing of writing material like pens has been discouraged by the CISCE.

In its notification, the Council has asked the students to reach their examination centres earlier, so as to avoid overcrowding at the entrance. Also, students have been advised to maintain social distancing practices while moving around in the campus of their centres.

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) also declared recently that the pending board examination of class X and XII students will be held between July 1 and 15.

Meanwhile, the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) which had almost completed both the board examinations has suggested a delay in the results. The Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examination was completed, while the one pending paper of Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examination, Geography, has been cancelled by the Board.

While the class X and XII results of almost all the academic boards usually begin to be declared around the last week of May every year, this year, the whole academic calendar has been disrupted by the Coronavirus lockdown.
