Jobs ahead? Seven companies to invest over Rs 3,600 crore in Pune under Magnetic Maharashtra initiative

Pune: ‘Magnetic Maharashtra’ will see an investment of Rs 3,650 crore in and around Pune. The investment by seven companies is expected to create more than 28,000 jobs directly in Pune.

Under its ‘Magnetic Maharashtra’ initiative, the state government has recently signed a memorandum of understandings (MoUs) of Rs 61,000 crore with 25 Indian companies in over 15 sectors. The MoUs signed are expected to create 2.53 lakh jobs around the state. The MoUs were signed on Tuesday in the presence of Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray and Industries Minister Subhash Desai. The proposed investments are from, pharmaceuticals, IT, healthcare, food processing, automobiles and oil and gas sectors among others.

Many Industries namely Goyal Ganga, GG Metropolis, Graviss, Bajaj Auto, AMPS Pharmatex Industries, Clean Science and Technology and Sonai Eatable India will mark their investment in Pune. Goyal Ganga and GG Metropolis have already invested in the IT sector. With an investment of Rs 2,500 crore in Pune, it will help create over 25,000 jobs in the sector.

Prashant Girbane, Director General, MCCIA (Maratha Chamber of Commerce, Industries and Agriculture) said, “We express the gratitude and congratulate the state government as they have maintained its leadership to attract investment in the state. The projects will be operational soon. The Maratha Chamber of Commerce, Industries and Agriculture are ready to help these industries in the Pune division to grow. We have held similar talks with the government.”
