Pune, 7th July 2026: Police have uncovered fresh developments in the murder investigation of businessman Ketan Agarwal, alleging that the prime accused, Siya Goyal, had secretly married her alleged lover and co-accused, Chetan Chaudhary, months before Agarwal was killed at Lohgad Fort.
According to investigators, an examination of WhatsApp chats, call records, location data and internet search history from the accused persons' mobile phones revealed that Goyal and Chaudhary had allegedly entered into a secret marriage around four months ago without informing their families.
Police said the digital conversations recovered during the investigation indicate the existence of the alleged marriage.
Investigators believe the couple may have conspired to eliminate Agarwal after their secret marriage. Police have accused Goyal and Chaudhary of pushing Agarwal into a gorge at Lohgad Fort on June 18, leading to his death. Both accused have been arrested and are currently in judicial custody.
The investigation has also revealed that the alleged murder plot was first attempted on June 14 but did not succeed. Police claim Goyal backed out at the last moment, causing the plan to fail.
According to investigators, Goyal later told Chaudhary that she could not carry out the act alone and asked him to come so they could do it together. Police suspect the two then executed the plan on June 18, allegedly pushing Agarwal off the cliff at Lohgad Fort.
Police said the investigation is continuing, with digital evidence forming a key part of the case against the accused. The allegations are part of the ongoing investigation and will be tested during the judicial process.
