Kothrud Candidate Chandrakant Patil Assures Development of The Area

ST CORRESPONDENT

Pune: After the dramatic entry of BJP State President Chandrakant Patil in the Kothrud constituency, the national party organised a party workers’ rally on Wednesday.

The District Guardian Minister admitted and appreciated sitting Kothrud MLA Medha Kulkarni’s efforts. He also assured Puneities that he will work for the development of Kothrud.

The party workers’ rally which was held at Ashish Garden did not receive an enthusiastic response. More than 200 party workers were present during the rally.

After the announcement of Chandrakant Patil as the candidate from Kothrud constituency, many had raised the point of giving the seat to a non-Brahmin candidate. To counter the growing agitation, the party decided to organise the rally to build trust among party workers.

According to party sources, BJP has given the responsibility to Pune City MP Girish Bapat to handle the situation and provide support to Patil to win the Kothrud seat.

Speaking at the rally, Patil said, “I don’t expect anything from the party. If you keep expectations and they are not fulfilled, definitely you will get upset. Kulkarni has nourished Kothrud constituency like a child. Our government is committed to the development and we will work hard. We will solve the development problem of Kothrud.”

Upset Kulkarni ready to work for Patil
There were rumours that the party had not invited sitting MLA Kulkarni to the rally. But she was present and said, “I was upset. But I will work for Chandrakant Patil and promise that we will give you the highest lead in the Assembly election from Kothrud constituency.”
