The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for hot and humid weather on October 9 in six Konkan districts: Palghar, Thane, Mumbai, Raigad, Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg.
The warning comes as high temperatures and humidity are expected to make conditions uncomfortable, particularly in coastal areas. Residents are advised to avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight during the hottest hours, drink sufficient water and take precautions against heat-related discomfort.
