Pune, 24 November 2025: The cold wave that gripped Maharashtra over the past week has now weakened, as the flow of northerly cold winds has slowed down. Cloudy weather has developed across the state due to conditions favourable for light rainfall.
In Pune, the minimum temperature, after remaining below normal for 12 continuous days, has now climbed back to the normal range. Several other parts of Maharashtra have also seen temperatures rise above 14°C, bringing noticeable relief from the sharp winter chill.
Dhule recorded the state’s lowest minimum temperature on Sunday at 10.1°C, while daytime heat increased in many regions, with the mercury crossing 30°C at several locations. Ratnagiri registered a maximum of 35.4°C in the 24 hours ending Sunday morning.
Southern Maharashtra districts are experiencing weather conducive for light rain, leading to widespread cloud cover. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Thane, Mumbai, Raigad, Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg, Sangli, and Kolhapur may see cloudy skies with isolated thunderstorms. With minimum temperatures rising further, the overall chill is expected to reduce significantly across the state.
