Pune: In the coming days, business will move from product to platform and there will be a need to make the product more intelligent, said Ravi Pandit, Chairman and Group CEO of KPIT, on Friday. He was speaking as the chief guest at 'Accord 2017 - Sustainability Summit', a thought leadership forum held at Yashada on Friday. 

"We need more intelligence in designing our product. We can see that technology is reaching everywhere faster. Sensors, genetics, robotics, these are becoming more and more common and easier to use. What is exciting is the confluence of these technologies," said Pandit.

He further said that the world is moving from 'own economy' to 'shared economy' and so the business vision should be in the same perspective. "When the concept of shared economy is perceived, eco-friendly and sustainability will be taken further and to everyone," noted Pandit. 

Speaking at the event, Guest of Honor Pramod Chaudhari, Director of British Standards Institution (BSI), said that Praj has always endeavoured for sustainable practices and would like to propagate a green supply chain in the industry. "This initiative and the global perspectives deliberated during the summit will help uplift the overall quality and sustainability standards in the Indian manufacturing and engineering industry," said Chaudhari.

Pandit also appreciated Praj’s endeavours in creating a positive change in the environment by use of innovative and digital practices. He said that they have also set an example for other organisations; especially from the SME sector. In addition to complimenting Government of India’s flagship programmes such as Make in India, Swachh Bharat, Zero Defect Zero Effect (ZED), Praj Green Procurement Initiative also contributes to combating evils of climate change and global warming and to fulfil India’s commitment to COP 21 UN Climate Change Conference.
