Man Held For Stealing Luxury Watches

PUNE:  The sleuths from Crime Branch unit 4 of Pune City police nabbed the gang leader who had stolen four luxury watches worth Rs 5 lakh from Pavillion Mall in August. 

Earlier his three accomplices were arrested. 

The arrested accused was identified as Vivek Manvarsingh Rawat (33) of Faridabad, Haryana. The police said he is a Std X dropout and comes from a good family background. In Mumbai and Noida he was involved in the theft of branded goods from high-end shops.

DCP (Crime Branch) Bachchan Singh said, “Primary investigation showed their involvement in cases across metros like Mumbai and Bengaluru. The accused persons fly by air, stay in hotels and target malls. All four luxury watches which they had stolen were recovered.”

Police Inspector Anjum Bagwan added, “Rawat is in police custody till October 6. Further investigation is going on to ascertain their roles. Rawat had formed a gand, which they have named as ‘Handsome Gang’ which comprised his school friends from Delhi.”

The investigation team included API Ganesh Pawar, and policemen Ganesh Kale, Sagar Ghorpade, Sachin Dhawale, Bhalchandra Borkar, Suhas Kadam and Ashok Shelar.
